Foundation of the Federal Bar Association

The Foundation of the Federal Bar Association provides the best way for practitioners to give back to the Federal legal community. Chartered by Congress in 1954, the Foundation serves people in communities across the United States through its generous grants, scholarships, and programming.

With the Foundation’s support, underserved communities are provided with positive introductions to the Federal justice system and officers of the courts as well as civics fundamentals education. Participants in Federal court programs benefit from the Foundation’s support and mentorship programs. Foundation scholarships give America’s young adults opportunities to pursue Federal legal careers, ushering in a new generation of attorneys and judges.

The Foundation upholds high standards for Federal practitioners, facilitates the cultivation and diffusion of legal knowledge, and supports civics education and programs that advance the public understanding of democratic principles, the judicial system, and the rule of law.

Practitioners who devote themselves to community outreach and service and show exemplary leadership in Federal service are recognized by the Foundation for their contributions to society.

Being a Fellow of the Foundation or even “just” a donor means changing lives nationwide. All whose lives are touched by the Foundation—whether as a beneficiary or a philanthropist—feel its impact and are improved by their involvement.
